A New Perspective on Contemporary Egyptian Living
A residential project shaped around natural materials, filtered daylight, and calm proportions. The interiors balance warmth and restraint while allowing architecture, furniture, and art to exist as one composition. Rather than separating structure from atmosphere, the project treats every surface, opening, and object as part of a continuous spatial language. Natural stone, warm timber, textured plaster, and muted fabrics create a layered environment that changes subtly throughout the day as light moves across the interior. The result is a home that feels composed and deliberate without becoming rigid.
Designing Spaces Around Light, Texture and Movement
An exploration of how changing daylight, tactile finishes, and carefully framed views can influence the atmosphere of a space throughout the day. Light is treated as an architectural material, shaping circulation, emphasizing surfaces, and creating moments of contrast between open and more intimate areas. Texture plays an equally important role, introducing depth through stone, timber, fabric, plaster, and metal. Together, these elements create interiors that feel dynamic without becoming visually excessive, allowing movement through the space to reveal new compositions, changing perspectives, and subtle shifts in tone.
Inside Our Approach to Hospitality Design
Hospitality environments are developed as complete experiences, bringing architecture, objects, lighting, and identity together through a consistent visual language. The process begins with understanding how guests will move through the space, how long they will stay, and how each area should feel at different moments of the day. Furniture, lighting, material choices, graphics, and spatial proportions are considered together rather than as separate decorative layers. This approach creates environments that feel immersive and coherent while still allowing individual spaces to develop their own character, atmosphere, and rhythm.
Craftsmanship as Part of the Design Process
Working closely with local makers allows individual materials and handmade details to become part of the architecture rather than simply decorative additions. Joinery, stonework, metalwork, upholstery, and custom furniture are often developed alongside the larger spatial concept so that construction techniques can influence proportion and form from the beginning. Small variations, tactile surfaces, and the marks of hand-making are intentionally preserved, giving each project a more personal and material character. Craft becomes part of the design language itself, connecting contemporary spaces with local knowledge and methods of making.
Reframing Heritage Through Contemporary Design
A study of how regional references, traditional proportions, and familiar materials can be reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural language. Rather than reproducing historical motifs directly, the design process focuses on atmosphere, rhythm, scale, texture, and material memory. Elements associated with local architecture are reduced to their underlying principles and translated into cleaner, more restrained spatial gestures. This allows heritage to remain present without becoming literal, creating interiors and architecture that feel connected to place while still belonging clearly to the present.
